Course-level Settings

Note: By default, AI tools are OFF at the course level, and you will not see the AI summarise, explain, and generate text tools available in your course.

To turn AI tools ON:

1. Go to Settings within your course navigation bar from the course homepage
   

   

1. Scroll down and expand the AI tools section of the settings
   

   

1. Toggle Allow AI tools for this course to Yes

If AI tools are ON in the course, by default the AI tools will be enabled for the course activities and resources. You can then control these at the activity level.

Activity-level Settings

For each activity and resource, you can turn AI tools on or off. See the steps below:

1. Go to the activity or resource (click on the activity/resource title on the course homepage)
2. Select Settings in the course navigation bar
3. Scroll down to the AI tools settings section
   1. Set Allow AI tools in this activity to No if you do not the AI summarise, explain, and generate text features available for the activity
   2. Set Allow AI tools in this activity to Yes if you want to make AI tools available, then choose which tools you want available for the activity by setting these to On
      

      

Note: Generate text is available to instructors only. Students do not have access to this tool in the site.
